Welcome To SURYA ECO YOGA CAMP information & booking web site.

Held over the Summer Holidays, Sunday 25th July, until Saturday 31st July 2010 at the Chyan Cultural Centre Nr Falmouth, Cornwall.

I am delighted that SURYA is taking place at the Chyan Cultural Centre which is an 11 acre site, some of which is wild, some is nature reserve and woodland with a stream and some is structured garden. There is a modern barn which will hold the majority of classes and several tented structures. Thankyou to Steph and Brett Jackson for use of the site and the hard work everyone involved with Chyan has put in to make this event possible.

As you’re visiting this site I imagine you are probably really into yoga and camping, have seen the flyer and you are interested in finding out more about this small gathering. We anticipate no more than 150 adults on site plus children. This ensures that we can keep track of who is around and maintain a community feel to the event. Tickets are sold in advance so that we know who is coming and can cater as well as possible for everyone.

Cornwall feels like a good place to have such a gathering, many of us travel out of county to visit other teachers and festivals, using up various resources along the way. Others of us want to come to Cornwall and what better place to enjoy the light midsummer evenings.

All of our teachers are here because they love what they do. They have been specially selected for their enthusiasm, their skill and their dedication to yoga or chosen discipline. They are all qualified and experienced. Not only that, but they all come and work on an exchange basis, which is what helps to keep the cost of the festival low. Without their generosity of spirit, SURYA would be an entirely different event and I thank them for being prepared to offer their services to a new venture and bring their energy to hold the space.

Important note:
SURYA is particularly geared towards being safe and enjoyable for families. The whole site is Drug and Alcohol free and we are sorry that we do not allow dogs. We also have a ‘Peace and quiet time’ for everyone from 10pm onwards. This means that those with young children are able to get well deserved rest. For night owls there will be spaces you can use for quiet company. If you do not like any of these policies then please choose nearly any other festival where you can drink, smoke, drum etc. On arrival you will be asked to sign a site agreement which relates to the above.
